ADSR4 - Week 4

Another digi-share:

Challenge 7: The only criteria was to use the entire "Sunshine Surprise" kit which was provided by Sunshine Studios ~

Back 2 School

Challenge 8: I had to scraplift a "scrapping idol", include stars, and use the word 'dream' in the title ~

Dreams Come True

Thanks Jolene for the inspiration for this challenge, I couldn't decide which layout to scraplift so I just chose the first one!

A taste of summer

This is a sneak peek of my lastest Stylish Class kit for Crafting in Style:

Taste of Summer

I loved creating with the gorgeous Kaisercraft papers, just love blue and lime and orange, so perfect for summer.

I've been creating summer-themed layouts all month!

I submitted this layout for the Scrap Lounge monthly challenge - using 'summer' in the title, and three different patterned papers:

Loving Summer

This was my take on the Summer Challenge over at Scrap Boutique ~ using Liz's sketch, Manon's colour scheme, and the quote selected by Kate:

Eternal Summer

Then for the Boutique Summer Lovin' cybercrop I made these ones:

Endless Summer

Gotta love summer :)

Happy dancing

I am feeling so very, very lucky today!! THIS is why.

Thank you so much to Spellbinders for a super-duper amazing prize, and I'm so-o-o-o-o looking forward to getting hold of these and having a play!!

I'm now getting serious in my search for the best way to store these. Any suggestions, please let me know!

You're Special

The Crafting in Style February cybercrop is dedicated to the memory of Dee Lewthwaite, a very special CISter who passed away on 18th December 2008.

Photobucket

On Thursday 12th February I will be teaching an online class, to raise funds for the Cancer Council. During the class we will create a single page layout in honour of someone special, with papers by Making Memories, penwork and doodling by YOU, and hidden journalling for recording personal, private or still-painful thoughts and memories.

The class kit has SOLD OUT but class access is still available in store and proceeds will be donated to the work of the Cancer Council.

Laura and Manon will also each be presenting classes over the weekend - please support this worthwhile cause and help us to pay tribute to a beautiful friend whose faith, dignity and courage touched all who knew her.

ADSR4 - Week 3

Challenge 5 was super tricky for me, but I did manage to come up with something that fit the criteria ~ no photographs, three different frames with no pictures in them:

Dream Destination 2

It took me two tries to get it right, but it still feels a bit 'forced' to me. Then I looked at some of the other gorgeous entries and thought, "Why didn't I think of that?" With digital I'm still at the stage where every time I look at one of my layouts I can see something I would change. I will be over that when I start with a digital creation in mind, instead of trying to re-create 'what I would have done' with a paper layout.

Challenge 6 was a 'roadblock' - so it was just me competing this time. I had to scraplift my partner's layout, flip it then tilt it, and use exactly the same number of elements. This is my take:

As always, full product credits are listed in my NDISB gallery.

Scrapping Christmas

Just a quick layout share - trying hard to keep up to date with my photographs (ha, like that will happen...) and scrapping some Christmas 2008 photographs:

First, this 8x8 was for the Bits & Pieces challenge over at Crafting in Style:

I did this one for the Scrap Boutique Stash Stomper challenge, using Liz's sketch and seven photographs:

Photobucket

And another 8x8 layout for my nephew's album, using up some scraps:

I scrapped the same photograph on a 12x12 layout for my own album, playing with Pink Paislee Pixie Stix:

More Pixie Stix on this one (not a Christmas layout but I had fun with the glitter!)

Photobucket

Check out the latest CIS newsletter for a Pixie Stix product review which explains about some of the techniques I tried!

Oops

It turns out that my first attempt at Challenge 3 didn't fit the criteria, because the gallery hosting my 'original' layout is not a 'public gallery' (it requires a log-in to access). So.... back to the drawing board. This time I chose to re-do the first layout in my NDISB gallery:

From this:

SNC rainbow challenge

To this:

Once again I used the Magic Rainbows kit by Rhonna Farrer, though this time it's a very basic layout.

For both of my Challenge 3 attempts I still think I prefer the original creations. But it's all in the name of a challenge, and all part of the creative journey.

ADSR4 - Week 2

Another week, another two challenges.

Challenge 3 ~ "re-do" a layout. This was fun - I chose a traditional/paper layout from my gallery at Crafting in Style, and re-created it using digi: The background paper by Rhonna Farrer is from her "Magic Rainbows" kit at 2peas, and it's my current favourite digi thing.

Cute Li'l Bunny

Challenge 4 ~ "Art and Soul". The criteria were to use three different 'artsy' techniques to create something that's not your usual style, and include some heartfelt journalling. My 'artsy' elements were the doodled paper, the paint splashes and the Warhol-style photographs. This is so 'not me' but it was really fun!!

Crazy about you

Full credits for all the digital elements are included with the layouts in my NDISB gallery. Suffice to say I didn't create any of them, I'll leave that to the designers who know what they are doing!!

Sharing

Just sharing a few more of my creations from December. These ones were completed for challenges over at Scrap Boutique:

Stash Stomper - using a sketch by Liz and at least 20 flowers:

I went crazy with my embossing powders and it took me ages to finish it, so it was really cool to win a prize for this one - YAY!!

Stylist Challenge - using the Dr Seuss quote and doodles:

And speaking of sharing, some lovely friends have nominated me for some blog awards ~ how cool is that!

Krissy nominated me for the "Spreader of Love" award. Thanks Krissy - you are fandabbydoosey!! It's always fun to share the love around :)

NEXT, two special friends Wendy and Ness each nominated me for the Proximity Award: "These blogs invest and believe in PROXIMITY - nearness in space, time and relationships! These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends."

.....

I'm not going to tag anyone with these ones, but I do appreciate your thoughtfulness and your friendship so much!!

Stylish kits

Goat Whisperer is my most recent Stylish Class Kit, in store at Crafting in Style:

It's one of my favourites so far, just love the fresh colours, and the LO title was chosen by my gorgeous DD :) There's still a couple of kits left.

Goat Whisperer

And for those who are getting their Christmas photographs scrapped, my Stars and Baubles workshop is still open for access, and you can work at your own pace, following the step-by-steps:

Quick and easy

With the summer heat and endless "things to do" over the Christmas/New Year I am really appreciating my stolen scrapping time as a relaxing distraction. I came the across Scrappin Kids challenge blog and created this layout based on the January sketch:

I also did a spot of 'blind scrapping' based on an article by Jolene in Scrapbook Creations:

Delight

Sometimes it's fun just to switch off and scrap on auto pilot!

Digi-CISters

I'm participating in the Amazing Digi Scrap Race again this year (ADSR4). I've teamed up with Ally again and we're underway!

Challenge 1 is sponsored by Hummie's World. She challenged us to create a layout that included journalling, and a photo 'torn' in to three pieces. I'm proud to say that I've learnt another new technique, and I created the torn paper effects all by myself (using PSE4):

Climb

Credits: All other elements are the products of some very talented designers. Full credits are attached to each layout in my gallery at NDISB

Challenge 2: This was an 'intersection' challenge, which means Ally and I had to collaborate to create a single layout. The theme was 'Cabin Fever', and the criteria was to use only four papers, eight elements, a title, journalling, two fonts and three photographs. Ally did the paper and elements, and I did the photographs, title and journalling:

So, one week down, five more to go. Bring it on!

I've also been creating a few other digital layouts ~

For the Aussie Scrapbooking December challenge, to scrap a Christmas recipe:

And for a challenge over at 2peas, I created this one using a template by Queen of Quirk (Jan Crowley):

Liz's Sketchbook

Check out A Page from my Sketchbook for the January sketch. I really enjoyed working with this month's sketch, but should I be concerned about all the pink, girly layouts I've been creating? It does get easier to use pink, and it's kind of growing on me.

December round up

A new year has begun and I've hit the ground running with some fun scrapbooking projects. But first, I need to upload some of my December creations:

This one was based on a Page Maps sketch and I really enjoyed playing with the KI Memories lace cardstock, and lots of pink:

I played with corrugated cardboard for this one and it really tied in nicely with the recycled materials in the photographs:

Another Christmas layout:

And a few more miscellaneous ones:

Let's Celebrate

This one was based on a sketch over at Scrap with V:

I do have a few more too... but I also have a heap of projects underway that I need to concentrate on. My poor blog has been a bit neglected but that's because I've been focussing on my photographs and my scrapping, so creatively I'm a happy soul at the moment.
