Adding a few more pages to my 2021 Outback travel album ~

I followed the WATER theme. In outback Queensland, muddy waterholes look nothing like the sparkling, chlorine-filled theme park pools in the inspiration photo, but, there you have it.

I used layers of torn papers, and added more layers with the die cut leaves.

This page was inspired by the Soul Scrappers July mood board, with the required two photographs, and using the provided colour palette {green/white/blues}. I started building my layout with the green base paper from Simple Stories {Let's Go ~ Let's Be Tourists} and added layers of blue scraps and matching embellishments. The chipboard alphabets are from a very old Cosmo Cricket set.

Be happy in the moment

I cut a large heart in the black cardstock, and I backed it with the rainbow paper.

I added machine stitching around the cut-out heart, along the torn paper edge, and as an accent on the tag.

I'm sharing this page at Soul Scrappers Screen 2 Scrap challenge, this month inspired by one of the most memorable movie posters, ever.  The artist was Roger Kastel.

I included all criteria -

* Blue/white/grey {Kaisercraft Stargazer ~ Milky Way patterned paper}

I also used a large arrow-shaped journalling card (reminiscent of the shark nose).  I got this in a group swap well over a decade ago, and I have no idea who made it... but I am so thrilled to finally use it on a page! 

I was also inspired to do a bit of research about the poster and artist, and I came across an interesting analysis of the poster.

I used patterned paper from Basic Grey {Scarlet's letter ~ Recognition}, and upcycled tissue wrap and corrugated coffee sleeve.  Lots of little red scraps used to make the flowers.

Elsie

I scrapped another page for my 1990's retro album. I've only got one picture of this gorgeous Golden Retriever "Elsie" who belonged to my future sister-in-law. Back in the 90's I lived on an island in the Whitsundays and there were no pets permitted, so I would get a 'dog fix' every time we visited friends or family on the mainland!

Hit the open road

This page was created for Scrapping Clearly ~ Palette Play: Vintage Charm

I was happy to use some silver/grey background paper that has been in my stash forever, which I think worked quite well for a road trip theme. I have a LOT of road trip scenery photos and it's fun to try different colour combos to add interest to my pages. For my title I used a pre-made cutfile from Scrapbook Fantasies, and backed it with paper scraps that matched the colour swatch.
