Life is good

I scrapped another waterfall layout, a companion page for this one.  A much more traditional layout this time, that's all about the patterned paper:

Materials
DCWV Palms & Ferns patterned papers
Basic Grey Aged & Confused - Sublime - Alpha Pistachio patterned paper
Chic Tags Vintage Note Stamps journalling tags
FWAB Blue pearls
Unbranded teal sequins
Heidi Swapp Gel Blossoms - Kiwi acrylic shapes
Satin ribbon remnant
Unbranded Life is Good cutting die
My Memories Heart punch

My layout was inspired by this template by Leah Riordan of Mommyish, featured at Soul Scrappers for the February sketch challenge:

SURVIVOR - February

Soul Scrappers is celebrating the site's 10th anniversary in 2020, with a SURVIVOR-themed year long challenge.  It's modelled on the reality tv show, except there will be no eliminations.  I've signed up and I will be sharing my creations on my blog.

** Participants can sign up all year - and there's also a random element so everyone has a chance to earn points and win some scrappy prizes **

This is what I created for the February challenge:

Materials
DCWV Palms & Ferns patterned papers
Corrugated cardboard
Prima Zephyr textured alphabet stickers
Cocoa Vanilla Tis the Season sequins
Marcel Schurman Do-Jiggies paper accents
Green Tara Cobweb - White trim
Kaisercraft Rhinestones - Silver gems
Unbranded teal sequins
Heidi Swapp Gel Blossoms - Kiwi acrylic shapes
Kaisercraft Kaiser Mist - Denim spray ink
Kaisercolour White acrylic paint

Water-themed layouts tend to be blue, but I focussed on green tones, because rainforest waterfalls reflect the forest greens more.  Here's some close up shots of the waterfall - lots of gesso and spray ink, and some white paint splatters to top it off.

Some bits of bling to symbolise sparkly water droplets, and some mirrored embellies - there's always some reflections in the water at the bottom!

Play nice, or go home

I enjoy visiting Scrap the Boys each month for some new inspiration, and I really liked the February challenge 'poster' prompt:

I scrapped a pic of my daughter's boyfriend, who is heavily involved in GelBall fundraising events for WOUNDED HEROES:

Materials
Corrugated cardboard
Kaisercolour Antique White acrylic paint
Junkitz Home - Tablecloth patterned paper
Pink Fresh Escape the Ordinary ephemera quote
Cherry Arte East of India - Paisley Rouge patterned paper
Chic Tags Vintage Note Stamps journalling tag

In keeping with my mission to stash-bust my oldest supplies this year, I raided my patterned paper offcuts first, and built the layout around those.

I love scrapping monochromatic... and that's one of the reasons I always look forward to seeing what's new at White...with 1.

Happy 90th Birthday
