When I saw this prompt, I knew I wanted to feature this little embroidered flamingo! I did a stash dash by colour -  Cocoa Vanilla Happy Days - Lush Blooms patterned paper + Fancy Pants Wonderful Day - This Way patterned paper + Ranger/Tim Holtz Worn Lipstick distress ink + a szoosh of Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist - Dazzling Diamonds over the top.

Inspired by the bricks. I tinted texture paste with acrylic paint to create the colour, then applied it through a stencil {Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz - Bricked layered stencil}.

Taking some time out to join in at the Life is Art ~ Bright Ideas online crop. This is what I've created so far:

Matilda

I'm sharing this layout at Soul Scrappers for the February One Word challenge, featuring the letter M for Matilda. I created the title from an old chipboard alpha set {American Crafts Thickers - Marquise pearl letter stickers}.

Matilda began her life as the mascot for the 1982 Brisbane Commonwealth Games. Yes, I am old enough to remember this!

WHITE with INK

I'm back for another year on the design team at White with 1. This is my February layout share.

Here's the mood board and challenge criteria ~

INSPIRATION -
The ink outlines in the mood board artwork reminded me of the wireframe design of the art installation encountered in my travels.

COLOUR -
* WHITE background - Instead of plain white I used a white ledger "b-side" {Simple Stories Color Vibe - Woods patterned paper}.  
* Select ONE colour from the image - blue, ORANGE, brown, green  or yellow

CRITERIA -
Use paint or INK {my favourite journalling pen - for the doodled border and handwriting}.

Direction

My word for 2026 is DIRECTION.  My layout title comes from a line by Dr Seuss in Oh, the Places You'll Go!   I created the title from very old stash of die cut letters {My Mind's Eye Everyday Tango - Lime Twirl alphabet}.  I chose the background paper {Cocoa Vanilla Boys Rule collection} because the triangles remind me of arrows .  And that's me - driving my Ranger 4x4 - which takes me in any direction I choose to go!

Mini works of art - January

Last year I challenged myself to complete the Scrapping Clearly 2025 ATC Challenge - 52 weekly prompts. I finished all except one [which somehow slipped between the cracks].  I really enjoyed trying new techniques and revisiting old ones. This year I'm joining the Mini Works of Art challenge ~ with a new array of weekly prompts.  I plan to stick with ATCs, but that could evolve as the year progresses.
