Weekend scrapping

Loving my weekend crafting time, feeling inspired not only to stash-bust, but to photo-bust as well.  No rhyme or reason... just scrapping whatever photo grabs my attention next.

This layout is another for the 2012 album.  I shelved these pics for ages because they are a bit forced, and have harsh indoor-flash shadows.  But "cousin" visits are few and far between so I really wanted to include them in a layout....

Travel journal pages

Although I kind of have my travel journal planned out (mostly chronological), I'm not actually creating my pages in sequence.  I'm jumping all over the place, depending on my mood and which supplies are on my desk.  And... with all the different challenges around the internet at the moment, I've been making some great progress in the past few weeks.  Here are a few I've done over the past few days:

This layout was inspired by the iNSD Challenge at Soul Scrappers - Use circular photographs.  The challenge was exactly the push I needed to scrap these pics. 

My husband is obsessed with altitude and elevation, and carries his altimeter on every trip.  His CIRCULAR altimeter.  Without the challenge it probably wouldn't have occurred to me to circle-punch these photographs, but I'm so happy with the result.

I chose a brown and cream patterned paper as my base, and I left the chipboard raw to show the pretty cream woody tones.  I used two ecru crocheted lace doilies.

Survivor - May

Soul Scrappers is celebrating the site's 10th anniversary in 2020, with a SURVIVOR-themed year long challenge.  It's modelled on the reality tv show, except there will be no eliminations.  I've signed up and I will be sharing my creations on my blog.

** Participants can sign up all year - and there's also a random element so everyone has a chance to earn points and win some scrappy prizes **

The May challenge theme is BIRDS.  The challenge doesn't require the layout to include a photograph of birds, but I have an entire library of photos of chickens and ducks that we raised at home... so it was a good push to sort through those and see what might be scrap-worthy!  This is my layout:

And then I decided that my fingers weren't nimble enough to make the smaller versions I had planned, so I die-cut some chicks from paper scraps!

A sunburnt country

After all my tropical pages lately, it was fun to pull out some of my older outback photos and get scrapping on something different.  I created this one for some of the challenges at Anna's Craft Cupboard cyber crop.
