Sometimes there is nothing more terrifying than historical truth - particularly the numerous ways humanity is lost in a wartime climate of paranoia and suspicion. I found the story of the German Monument at South West Rocks fascinating, and it revealed to me a piece of Australian history I hadn't previously known.
