Walk beside me

This challenge at Off the Rails:

... inspired me to create this layout:

It turned out a lot plainer than I expected, considering the time that went into the background work, but the creative process was very relaxing.

I had decided it was time again to purge my smaller scraps, starting with these ones:

Then I got happy with gesso:

After that I inked one page with lots of fluid chalk ink.  {The other page is a for a future project.}  I doodled around the edges, and layered up some more scraps and photographs.

Materials:
Autumn Leaves For the Record journalling stamp
ColorBox Catseye Queue - Creamy Brown fluid chalk ink
ColorBox Catseye Queue - Chocolate Roan fluid chalk ink
Cosmo Cricket Tiny Type alphabet stickers
Carolee's Creations AdornIt - Buckaroo alphabet stickers
Gold stars

  1. Giggles! I hate it when I do AWESOME bg work...then proceed to cover it up with my photos etc!! But you have used up lots of scraps, which is a wonderful feeling. Don't you LOVE what gesso does? I think it's fabulous:) Love how you've gotten the feeling of the mood board on your LO. The stars are a really neat touch....OH! And as for my 'penchant' for nail polish? Ummmm....nup! never touches my nails...which I'm ashamed to say at the ripe old age of 53 I still bite. EEEK!!! ANYWAYS....thanks for joining in at Off the Rails this month!!!

  6. Def agree with Lizzy. So much time & effort ... only to be covered can be a bit annoying, but I really like the overall result and I think it's a great representation of the mood board. Thanks for sharing with us at Off the Rails Scrapbooking.
