Thanks a latte

Using up some bits and pieces on my desk to make a couple of thank you cards for the Kraft Plus January challenge:

Materials
Bazzill Basics Classics - Kraft cardstock
Bazzill Basics Smoothies - Walnut Cream cardstock
Bazzill Basics Fourz - Grenadine cardstock
Upcycled corrugated cardboard
Printed calico fabric scraps
Washi tape
Wooden flower buttons
DMC embroidery thread
Crayola Deep Red watercolour pencil

My first (layout) entry for the challenge was posted HERE; here's a reminder of the delicious challenge prompt:

And the individual cards:

Digital credit:  The latte cup image is from the Love from Me set, from Verve Stamps.  I got it last year when it was a limited edition freebie/giveaway.  I noticed that it's been re-released for sale this month.

Colouring-in is not my strong point, but I really wanted to add a pop of colour to the image.  I pulled out my watercolour pencils to add just a smidgin of red... instant 'happy' :)

Cadet Games 5 - Rolling

I'm playing along at D-lish Scraps / The Scrap Suite January cybercrop.  This layout is for the Sports theme:

Materials
Bazzill Basics Kraft cardstock
Kaisercraft In the Attic - Closet patterned paper
Echo Park For the Record 2 - Doily patterned paper
7 Gypsies Gypsy Market - Herne patterned paper
Studio Calico Classic Calico 2 - Stars wood veneers
Buzz & Bloom Pointers - Spikey Spiders chipboard
Kaisercolour White acrylic paint
Kaisercraft Mini Alpha - Cream letter stickers
Orange chevron washi tape
Red & gold trim

We don't really play sports in this family but we are active in other ways such as our Rural Fire Service involvement. This layout features one of the competition events my daughter participated in at the 2017 Australian Cadet Fire Games, so I'm hoping it fits the theme.

I've used red/orange/yellow to match the fire appliances and organisational colours.

Party animals

More Than Words is celebrating its birthday with this fun January challenge:

Here is my layout:

Materials
Bazzill Basics Smoothies - Blackberry Swirl cardstock
Paper doily

Other paper scraps - KI Memories, K&Company

I took the challenge criteria very literally:  I scrapped a photograph taken at my friend's 70th birthday party, and featured two tags handmade from some patterned paper offcuts.

> @ > @ > @ > @ >

I made a companion page (with photographs from the same birthday party) using the criteria at Soul Scrappers Birthday Bash challenge.  I included the following elements:

 * a number (70 - in the journalling)
 * the word 'birthday' (in the journalling)
 * Disney quote "Growing OLD is mandatory but GROWING UP is optional"
 * twine
 * a cake
 * hugs and kisses (hand-drawn XOXOX)
 * stars
 * banner (hand-made from paper scraps)
 * a present (hand-made from paper scraps)
 * confetti (rhinestones)

A little close up shot of some of the elements:

Flowers, anyone?

I'm joining in at Scrap the Boys for their fun January theme, Who says you can't use flowers on a boy layout?

I've never had a problem using flowers on masculine layouts; this time around the biggest challenge for me was to find some photographs to scrap!  I went back through my "must-scrap-the-last-few-photos-and-finish-this-album" pile of photos, and found these ones.  The busy floral background  won't appeal to everyone, but I really like it!

Materials
Cocoa Vanilla Hello Sunshine - Summer Hits patterned paper
Bazzill Basics Dotted Swiss - Deep Blue cardstock
Cocoa Vanilla Make a Wish - Hip Hooray patterned paper
Creative Embellishments Discover Nautical flair button
American Crafts Thickers - Subway foam asterisks
Baker's twine

Cairns catch-up

Hot, hot, hot outside, so I'm doing a spot of scrapping, indoors, in the air-con. Today I'm using some online challenge inspiration to add a few more double pages to my Cairns travel album.

How awesome is the Kraft Plus prompt this month??  I love kraft and I love all things coffee... so I had to join in!

This is my layout {click to enlarge}:

Materials
Basic Grey Serenade - Riding Habit patterned paper
Cruze Cafe cup wrapper
Studio Calico Classic Calico 2 - Stars wood veneers

I took the inspiration very literally, with a coffee-themed page. I cut up a coffee cup wrapper, and kept the whole thing super simple to let the patterned kraft shine.
