Another card... this one is for the Birthday Bash challenge at Soul Scrappers, with a requirement to ADD A CAKE:

Materials
Kraft cardstock
Simple Stories Homespun - Insta-squares filler card
Memory Box Stitched Happy Birthday Circle Frame cutting die
Value Craft Cupcakes wood veneer

Stash-busting win, all round! Used the last of this ribbon spool, and busted open a pack of wood veneers that I bought from the dollar store a few years back. Totally loving the cutting die too - I think it will be getting a HUGE workout!

* Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper ~ Anything Goes.  As part of my stash-busting mission I've been targetting my older paper collections;  in this album I've been using the last of my Memento, which (I think?) was a Canadian manufacturer. It may be 'old' but I still think it's beautiful!

I hope the designers and the crafters who visit these challenge blogs will enjoy a spot of beautiful Australian scenery.

Sunday scrapping

The Mystical Scrapbooks cybercrop has a challenge this month to scraplift a layout from their gallery. I knew straight away that I wanted to scraplift one of the creations of the dear, departed Debi Clark, and dedicate my layout to her.  This is the layout I chose:

And this is my scraplift:

Materials

Collage Press Scrooge & Marley - 24th December patterned paper
Collage Press Sweet Shoppe patterned paper
Metal filigree butterfly
Kaisercolour White acrylic paint
Kaisercraft Mini Alpha - Latte letter stickers
Baker's twine
Buttons

My style is a bit more linear than Debi's, but I tried to use some smaller, random scraps and twine, and include some other "bits and bobs," as Debi used to say.

I'm sharing my layout at:
* Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper - Anything Goes. I used papers from three different Collage Press collections on this page... my January stash-busting is going well!
* Simon Says Monday - Chill Out.  Relaxing by the creek - can you see my feet in the water?

Celebrate

It's SO hot outside so I've got the air-con cranked up tonight, doing a spot of scrapping to finish off the week.  Here's my first layout of the evening:

Materials
Simple Stories Summer Vibes - Yellow Wood/Grid patterned paper
Vintage book page
Becky Higgins Project Life - Girl Theme filler card

This page was inspired by the January challenge at More Than Words:

My layout features a photograph taken at my work Christmas party, where we celebrated the end of the year with champagne. For the 'bling' I've added a pearl flourish, and a metallic gold title.

I used a sketch from Mystical Scrapbooks to build my layout design, and I'm also joining in at Simon Says Monday for the Chill Out theme.  Chilling with champagne... cheers!

Playing with stencils

I'm joining the January challenge at ARTastic, which is inspired by this piece of Ken Done artwork:

The criteria is a CITY THEME.  I chose the city of Sydney, and this is my layout, which will be the first in my 2017 family album:

Materials
Bazzill Basics Smoothies - Blackberry Swirl cardstock
Carabelle Studio Compositon avec de Carres art template
Imagine Crafts Creative Medium - Metallic Gold texture paste
Kaisercraft White acrylic paint
Heidi Swapp Center of Attention - Metallic Pink chipboard alphabets
White tissue paper

I used a black background with gold texture paste stencilling, and a few swipes of white using the edge of a foam brush.  Note:  The title is not misspelled; it is the event name (ie: Sydney New Year's Eve).  This is a detail shot showing how shiny the gold texture paste really is:

Summer scrapping

There are some bright and beautiful mood boards in blog-land this month, the perfect motivation to get some more beach photos scrapped.

This is the Show Us Your Stuff mood board:

And this is my take:

Materials
Authentique Radiant - Smiling patterned paper
Glitz Designs Glitter - Pink alphabet stickers
Carolee's Creations Adorn It - Flirtacious alphabet stickers
Charms Creations Hot Pink Spotty arrow embellishment
Wooden flower buttons
Crayola Golden Yellow watercolour pencil

I took my inspiration from the beach theme and the bright colours, particularly the hot pink flamingoes against the teal background. My handmade item is from Charms Creations.

&&&&&&&&&

This is the mood board at Scrapbookit:

And this is my take:

Materials
Cocoa Vanilla Sugar & Spice - Garden Girl patterned paper
Cocoa Vanilla Sugar & Spice - Perfect patterned paper
Glitz Designs Dance in Sunshine - Polka patterned paper
Green Tara 7cm Petals - Gold paper flower
Green Tara 7cm Petals - Orange paper flower
Embroidered lace trim flowers (from my habby stash)
Pink satin flower (unknown brand)
D-lish Scraps Woodgrain Hashtags flair button

I took inspiration from the bright colours {in particular the flowers} and the overall summer-y vibe of the mood board.

I used the January Rewind sketch at Grand Diva's Creative Corner. Actually, I started out with the sketch but I really had a hard time with it.  I've got the three photos, the main vertical patterned paper piece, horizontal elements, the round elements, and the journalling block... they're just shuffled around a bit so it only kinda-sorta looks like the sketch, if you squint!

&&&&&&&&&

And a lovely one at Anna's Craft Cupboard too:

This is the layout I created, based on the first January sketch at Stuck?! Sketches:

Materials
Studio Calico Story Time - Goodnight patterned paper
Webster's Pages Hello World - Little Moments patterned paper
Bazzill Basics Smoothies - Blackberry Swirl cardstock
Cre8tiv Glitter Icon stickers
My Memories Medium Heart punch
My Memories SmallHeart punch

Happy summer!  Thank you for visiting my blog!
