Cybercropping at Scrap Suite
Sharing a layout I made for the February cybercrop at D'lish Scraps / Scrap Suite:
This one was for the Back 2 School challenge:
Quick and simple, and a little bit "old school" ~ stash-busting those old alphabet stickers was very satisfying!
21/03/16 Edit to add: Selected as a winner!
Materials
Becky Higgins Project Life - Jade Collection patterned paper
Washi tape (x3)
Doodlebug Simply Sweet - Limeade alphabet stickers
Doodlebug Hopscotch - Swimming Pool alphabet stickers
Mini bulldog clip

Sprinkle magic everywhere
I'm joining in at the new More Than Words mini challenge, with the word prompt, MAGIC. I made a tag:
I still find it hard to create on such a tiny canvas, but I'm enjoying it more and more. I especially love finding little bits and bobs to include as embellishments. I started with a base of corrugated card, then built some simple layers. To tie it all together I painted over everything with a light coat of tinted glaze... magic!
Materials
Making Memories Scrapbook Colors - Rose Pink specialty glaze
EK Success Whale of a Punch - Retro Flower punch
Baker's twine
Prairie Bird Boutique wrinkled ribbon
Twill ribbon
I used my tag on a layout:
This one was inspired by the colours in the Funky Flair Studio challenge: pink and pistachio. I used a flair from the Green Trio. It was a bit too bright (and not really 'pistachio') so I toned down the colour with gesso, and used it as a date marker:
I'm sharing my layout at Clique Kits for the Anything Goes challenge.
Materials
American Crafts/Dear Lizzy Polka Dot Party - Grand Garland patterned paper
Paper doilies

Shed Cafe
Finally got around to scrapping some more photographs from our day trip in the Scenic Rim last October.
This layout was inspired by the February Australiana challenge at Words or Whatever - I chose a kraft background and corrugated cardboard to complement the bush setting of the photograph (and my journalling also highlights some of the 'Aussie' elements of the cafe:
I used a WOW wood veneer (painted), and also used other Australian products on my layout.
Materials
Kraft cardstock
WOW Love This wood veneer
Kaisercolour Coastal Blue acrylic paint
Cocoa Vanilla Flying High - Little Man patterned paper
This layout is my response to Scrapbook Fantasies Weekly Challenge #7/2016, also with an Australiana theme:
The photographs were taken at the same Shed Cafe, and I just fell in love with the chooks made from recycled corrugated iron sheeting!
Materials
Kraft cardstock
Paper doily
Vintage book page
Echo Park For the Record 2 - Doily patterned paper (fussy cut)

Kaisercolour Lime acrylic paint

Materials

#wonderfulday
Another layout for our 2015 Ekka album:
I was inspired by these challenges ~
> Scrap the Girls, with their gorgeous Good as Gold mood board. I scrapped a picture of my daughter, and used the colours of black and gold.
> More Than Words, with the prompts of WONDERFUL and SPARKLE:
I used WONDERFUL in the title, and lots of glitter cardstock:
> Mixed Media Monthly Challenge, with the prompt of GLITTER:
The mixed media element is the stencilling, and glitter cardstock used as a photo mat and cut into star embellishments.
> C'est Magnifique Mixed Media challenge, following the stencil bump tutorial. I used texture paste for my base layer, and my 'bumped' layer is gold metallic creative medium.
This was a new technique for me so I was a bit tentative and conservative, but I like the result and will try the technique again on future projects.
Materials
Authentique Classique - Elegant One cardstock
CTMH Silhouette patterned paper
Sullivans Glitter - Gold cardstock
Stamper's Anonymous Tim Holtz - Stars layered stencil
Texture paste
Imagine Crafts CM - Metallic Gold paste

Pocket scrapping... with scraps!
For a while now, I've been on a mission to use up my scraps and part-packets of embellishments, so I thought I'd do a scrappy catch up on some more August photographs today, and revisit pocket-style scrapping. I took inspiration from Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge for February - all the pieces I used are scraps (I didn't cut into any new sheets) and I mixed collections. I find it so satisfying to use up my existing stash rather than using pre-made pocket cards. The paper flowers are the last two from a mixed size pack.
Detail shot of the 2x2 square, with teeny-tiny fussy cutting:
I'm also entering my layout in the Pocket Page challenge at C'est Magnifique.
Materials
Simple Stories Sn@p! Studio - Insta-Pocket page
Crate Paper Maggie Holmes - Shine - Devine patterned paper
Kaisercraft Enchanted Garden - Entrance patterned paper
Kaisercraft Waterberry - Delicious patterned paper
Basic Grey Lime Rickey - Howdy Doody patterned paper (fussy cut birds)
Kaisercraft 2cm White paper flowers
MFT Die-namics - Little Lowercase Letters alphabet dies

Dream big
This is the prompt for Week 5 at Colour Me Positive:
And this is the art journal page I created:
I used an upcycled page divider for my cardstock base, because it was just the perfect shade of blue! Then I did some simple stencilling with texture paste - no primer or other medium.
I made the hot air balloon by free-hand cutting the shape, and gluing on kaleidoscope of punched butterflies. {I got the idea from Gypsy Stockley whose hot air balloon made from hearts inspired this design.}
I'm sharing my creation at Simon Says Wednesday for the Anything Goes theme.
Materials
Stencil Girl Rembrandt's Words 6x6 stencil
Texture paste
My Memories butterfly punch
Baker's twine
Bella Blvd Sunny Happy Skies - Borders patterned paper (fussy cutting)
