More Christmas cards...

A few more Christmas cards:

The first one is an easel card which I made for Liz's challenge at Scrap Boutique, using more Bo Bunny 'Love Shack' papers:

I made this one using up the offcuts of the first card:

# Whimsy Stamps ~ Challenge #29 ~ Christmas
# Charisma Cardz ~ Challenge 47 ~ Christmas

Christmas cybercropping

Over at Scrap Pile we held our last cybercrop for 2009 on the weekend, and our theme was Christmas...

My challenge was to create a Christmas layout with at least three photographs, using non-traditional colours. My layout:

There's also some free Christmas workshops ~ our Christmas gift to Scrap Pile forum members. Here's a small selection of some of my workshop creations:

The ornaments are made from recycled plastic cocoa lids (because we consume a lot of drinking chocolate in this household *wink*).

I'm entering this last project over at:
# C.R.A.F.T ~ Challenge 27 ~ Christmas gifts
# Charisma Cardz ~ Challenge 47 ~ anything Christmas

Wishes

Yesterday my daughter was telling me about one of the fairy stories she is reading, and she decided she NEEDS a wish box. How it works (apparently) ~ the box needs to be really pretty and you write your wishes on pieces of paper and put them inside the box so that they can come true.

So, I surreptitiously unearthed an empty boiled lolly tin from the 'someday' craft box while she was at school, rifled through my stash for some funky patterned paper offcuts, and I got creative:

I haven't decided if I'll show her yet, or wait till she brings up the subject again, or put it aside for her birthday next month, or place it in her Christmas stocking...

In the meantime however, I'm entering this little creation in:
# Humble Pie ~ altered item

UPDATE 27 NOV: I won a prize for this one at Humble Pie. I'm holding on to the Wish Box for now and I'll wrap it up for her birthday, which is really, really soon.

Boutique cybercropping

I love cybercrops at Scrap Boutique! I didn't get through all the challenges this time round, but here are some of the ones I finished:

Speed scrapping ~ Scrapped and uploaded in 90 mins (hence the dodgy night photo)

Colour challenge ~ What a surprise, I went with the orange and brown!!

Card challenge ~ Inspired by Liz's sketch:

Glimmermist-ing

Last weekend I had the chance to play around with Glimmermist, something I haven't done a lot of.

The first layout is for Manon's Stash Stomper challenge at Scrap Boutique:

And the next one was a fun one for one of the spontaneous retreat challenges:

Both of them are for the calendar I'm making for Christmas. It's looking more and more likely that I'll actually get it finished in time!

Playing with Design Dollies

I'm loving the challenges that the fabulous Design Dollies are setting!  I've been catching up on some old Christmas photos this week and the challenges were perfect.

# Design Dollies ~ Colour Challenge ~ red and grey
# Basic Grey Challenges ~ Week 8 ~ Glitz and bling
Basic Grey papers: Black Tie 'Matteo', Ambrosia 'Zest', Scarlet's Letter 'Among the Ruins'

No layouts today...

Some fun "non-layout" creations:

My first ever ATC!!

The creative process took a lot longer than I expected, but I had heaps of fun with them. I used acetate, Mod Podge and napkins for the base, and loved the result.

I'm entering my ATC in the following challenges:
# Cute Card Thursday ~ Challenge 86 ~ Glitter me silly
# Whimsy Stamps ~ Challenge 28 ~ Not a card

At the Scrap Boutique retreat, Liz taught us how to make this amazing card caddy:

Mine doesn't look quite as amazing as Miss Lizzie's sample but considering I don't "do" off-the-page, I was thrilled with my finished project.  I also made six mini-cards to make a gift set for my mother-in-law for Christmas.

Edited to add:

Super scrappy weekend

I had an amazing weekend away at the Scrap Boutique retreat, spending some fun girly time with my 'old' friends, meeting some online friends in person for the first time, and meeting some new friends too.  Lots of scrapping, relaxing, and lots of laughing too.

I lost count of how many layouts and cards I created... too busy just getting into the zone and enjoying the process.  I finished off some design team projects, completed a few challenges, made some Christmas cards and gifts, and caught up on quite a few older photographs.

I haven't photographed everything yet, but here's the first installment:

# Design Dollies ~ Colour Challenge ~ black and turquoise
I used: Coredinations black cardstock, Delish paper, 'Midnight Blue' Glimmermist, Petaloo flowers, American Crafts brad, Prima packaging, Martha Stewart 'Arch Lattice' border punch, Maya Road ribbon, MME diecut alphas, Kaisercraft flower, Blueye Dezines flower, Signo gel pens, Spellbinders Nestabilities 'Labels 8' die

Next, a few cards.  Both of them were made using some white cardstock, offcuts of Bo Bunny 'Alissa' papers, and a Cuttlebug embossing folder:

# Caardvarks ~ Circle of Friends ~ Create a new round card with pizazz!
I used Spellbinders Nestabilities scalloped circles die to create the round shape.  The 'pizazz' factor is the touches of glitter glue in the flower centres, which is really hard to see in the photograph.

# Simon Says ~ Thinking of you

Doodling...

Over at Scrap Pile we have four monthly challenges happening... lots of scrap-mojo boosters and some prizes up for grabs as well.  This month it's my turn to host the technique challenge, and it's... DOODLING.

Here's my sample layout, using lots of yummy Bo Bunny (and PINK)

You can check the forum for full details of the challenge, and also to check the fun challenges set by Leanne and Belinda.

# Allsorts ~ Bring out your bling
I used Kaisercraft rhinestones

# Design Dollies ~ Elements challenge ~ distressing

Two cards and a layout

My work schedule this week is a bit nightmarish, so I've only had time to do "quick and easy" scrapping, snatching a bit of time here and there.   But I'm still happily creating, and happy with the creations too.

# Design Dollies ~ Elements challenge ~ ribbon and lace
# Simon Says ~ Give Thanks
# Flourishes ~ Favourite Things challenge
I was inspired by the line, "Brown paper packages"

# Design Dollies ~ Elements challenge ~ ribbon and lace
# Basic Grey ChallengesWeek 7 ~ Photo inspiration
I used: Basic Grey 'Infuse' paper, EK Success punch, Green Tara flower, Jenni Bowlin sticker, Thickers foam numbers.  I was inspired by the warm colours and the stripes.

Last one is a layout using the latest sketch from Sketchy Thursdays:

Christmas is coming...

Can't you tell? All the new Christmas scrapbook ranges are everywhere!

These are a few projects I've been working on for Scrap Pile, using Kaisercraft Belle Collection:

Cards and things

Sunday sharing... two cards and a layout.

This is my DT creation for Leanne's card challenge at the Scrap Pile cybercrop:

# Design Dollies ~ Elements challenge ~ ribbon and lace
# SophistiCat ~ Week 9 ~ ribbon and buttons

The next card is to send to a young lady who recently lost her mother in a senseless act of random violence. You can read about the details HERE. This is just a small token of hope...

# Whimsy Stamps ~ Rounding up Love for Jaimie
I used curved Spellbinders die (Labels 3), lots of spots and rounded motifs.

The last one is a little layout I did for the Scrap Lounge October sketch challenge.  I'm making a little calendar for my daughter, each month featuring one of her cute guinea pigs. This is the first one:

And I just found out today I won the challenge... YAY!! A nice little motivator to actually get it finished before Christmas.

Orange and navy blue

... just LOVE this colour combination.

Over at Design Dollies it's this week's colour challenge, and I've done two layouts, just couldn't resist :)

For the first one, I've had the photo printed out for a while but I couldn't decide how to scrap it. Orange seems the obvious choice now.

Patterned papers: SEI, Crate Paper, Carolee's Creations, Basic Grey.
Flowers: Prima, Green Tara, Kaisercraft stamp

The second one is based on a sketch by Leanne for the November sketch challenge over at Scrap Pile, and I also tried out my new EK Success border punch, which was another gift from Aud. Some silly photo booth pics we took at the Andy Warhol art exhibition last year:

Cardstock: DCWV, Coredinations, KI Memories
Flowers: Prima
