Just sharing a few layouts I finished in May. The first two are based on some sketches at Scrap Lounge:
This one (my favourite May LO so far) uses some older Junkitz papers and a precious photograph taken with a very special friend:
And this one (which had the extra criteria of including a tree on the layout) was fun because I played with lots of pink:
Back to some not-so-girly colours for a not-so-girly LO, based on a sketch over at Crafty Sketches:
The gorgeous orange cardstock and Scenic Route papers were a RAK from Liz, who knows "my colours" so well!! Thank you xx

Cards, cards, cards
Okay... so I'm not a card maker; I still really struggle with getting creative ideas onto such a small canvas, but I am trying and I'm actually starting to enjoy it too. These are a few that I've done over the past month:
Over at Scrap Pile, Linda is the resident card-making guru! She challenged us to make a window card, and this is my effort:
Hmmm, not sure if you can tell from that picture but there really is a window there, peeking through to the 'Happy Mother's Day' lettering. Mum liked it :)
My friend Liz is another card maker whose talents are just amazing. If you pop over to her personal blog, be sure to link to her dedicated card blog too :) Over at Scrap Boutique she set a card challenge for the cyber crop, and this was my entry:
The last one was for a Scrap Lounge challenge, to make a card in a non-traditional shape. I remember my daughter made a lady beetle at daycare one time, and this card was kind of inspired by the idea of the opening wings:
I can't credit the original design source because my card was based on a hazy memory of something I saw a long time ago. I've also seen several different versions online at various kids' craft sites. However, I did a bit of searching and came across this link http://printables.scholastic.com/printables/detail/?id=24947 which could be useful. I like the idea of using this design for a cute hidden journalling spot.

My turn
... to set the weekly DT challenge over at Scrap Pile.
I've gone with a "Lift-It" challenge, and this is my sample layout:
Details of the challenge can be found over on the forum and there's a week to complete the challenge for a chance to win at a Scrap Pile voucher.
I loved using the Paper Trunk 'Batik' papers, beautiful texture and rich colours. The lovely Leah lent me her white Souffle pen for part of the title, and I am in love!! I'm on the hunt for one of my own now.
Leone set last week's DT challenge: her 1-5 challenge is always fun. This one includes: * distressing * bling * paint * scallops * angled photograph
I used some gorgeous Bo Bunny 'Ella' papers from the Scrap Pile store:

Some sketch layouts
I've been playing over at Scrap Boutique this weekend, enjoying the challenges and the chance to step out of my comfort zone just a smidgin...
Liz's sketch was the trickiest thing for me this time, and I had to tweak it a little and squish the elements into the centre to make it work for my photographs. I was really pleased with the layout, even if you have to squint to imagine the original sketch:
The other requirement was to use elements starting with M-A-Y: mine are Making Memories diecuts, Autumn Leaves paper (the green) and yellow. I really love the Glitz patterned paper. It's the first time I've used it and I was thrilled with the result.
Chelsea's speed scrap was also based on a sketch, and this one had to be blue and green, and uploaded within the hour:
And another sketch layout, this time for the monthly Stash Stomper, using lots of stamps:

Some fun stuff
Had some fun with paint this week, with Manon's challenge over at Scrap Boutique:
I tried stamping with paint corrugated cardboard and I was thrilled with the result. Who'd have thought that my paint phobia would ever diminish so much?? I'm even starting to enjoy the stuff!!
More fun with some handmade layered flowers, in this layout created for Kate's challenge:
Over at Scrap Pile I joined in Kylie's colour challenge and created a black and white layout:
What a fun way to scrap that photo with all the purple in it!!

This month for Crafting in Style I enjoyed playing with some of the new Kaisercraft 'Grandiose' papers and Fozz Felt alphabets:

Lost count
I have lost count of the number of 'slippery slide' and 'playground' layouts I've done... I wonder if somewhere in the scrapper's rule book there's a quota listed in the fine print? Oh that's right, no rule book!! Just as well, because I still have zillions of unscrapped photos with... more playgrounds and slippery slides!!
I created this layout for Liz's blog, A Page from My Sketchbook:
Thanks to Laura for sharing your cutie-pie in these pics :)

Making me smile
Sharing a few more of my April layouts...
This one is a quick one I did for the Scrap Boutique 'Almost fooled me' April challenge. It's only simple but it makes me smile :)
And another one over at Scrap Boutique. It started out as a layout for Manon's Sunday Roast but because my printer died I didn't get the photographs added on time, and I was about a week too late, LOL. I'm happy with it though, and it's another one that makes me smile :)

New layouts
These are the first of my May design team layouts for Scrap Pile:
I especially loved playing with the Pink Paislee Fetching papers and Prima felt daisies... YUM! Those colours were just made for me.

A new challenge
I'm so excited to be a part of the Scrap Pile design team! I've been a member of the forum for a while now and everyone over there has been so supportive and welcoming in my new role. I'm having a ball already.
I've been playing with some gorgeous products from the store and will be sharing my layouts soon. And I've also launched a brand new monthly challenge in the forum - it's called "Inspiration ABC" and you can check out the details ---> HERE
